It’s like a coastal Grub Burger someone described it as and I agree – Like Grub in that I ordered a glass of wine while I waited in the quickly moving line up to the order counter, but coastal and better because it’s on the water with a relaxing outdoor seating option and fresh seafood on the menu that sounded amazing. There are so many items on the menu I want to try! I went with the Catch of the Day on my first visit. The blackened Drum was worth writing a positive review about for sure and my simple substitute of double veggies instead of rice or another side was happily accommodated. I appreciate that. The table servers checked in to make sure I had what I needed and to clear my plate after I finished, but they didn’t rush me out. In fact the wait staff asked if I’d like another glass of wine and fetched it for me from the bar. You may order from the counter and grab your own beverage and utensils initially, but it becomes full service – like after that. I have my eyes set on the shrimp burger with fried green tomatoes or the tuna bowl for next time and one of the creatively named spirits on the cocktail menu. The name of the restaurant and those clever cocktail names pay homage to the people and sites of the area the locals will appreciate. I’m selfishly excited to have another great eatery to visit when in alluring Port Aransas!
